POSITION OVERVIEW:
The company’s business and IT operations are heavily dependent on health care data from external sources such as clients, EHR vendors, and national insurance payors. This data is a critical resource within the Acclivity organization and provides the foundation for the company’s products and services.
This Business Analyst position is responsible for all phases of this data flow including:
- Liaison with prospective and ongoing data sources,
- Design and operation of one-time and recurring data transfers and
- Processing of all incoming data into a standardized data model.
The Business Analyst will leverage their operational experience with EHR and health care claims data in performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and drafting technical specifications for extracting, transforming, and loading incoming data flows. The Business Analyst will work closely with the operations and engineering teams to ensure that ETL processes meet business requirements, coordinate/conduct user acceptance testing, and monitor ongoing ETL data quality to ensure accuracy, uniformity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Business Analyst will also participate as a key member in ad hoc analyses, research, and publications produced by and for Acclivity staff, client organizations, and the health care community.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate existing products and processes, uncovering areas for improvement
- Work with clients and internal stakeholders to gather and document requirements for product enhancements
- Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure requirements are communicated clearly
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
- Perform user acceptance testing
- Execute against the product strategy and roadmap
- Perform any other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Aptitude for analytical skills
- Well-developed documentation and communication skills
- 3 – 5 years experience in business analysis or a related role
- 3 – 5 years experience in the healthcare industry, ideally in direct support of data analysis based on EHR and/or claims data
- 1 – 3 years experience coordinating data interfaces with EHR/EMR vendors and/or national payor organizations (CMS is a big plus)
- Working knowledge of industry-standard codes and taxonomies (e.g.: ICD, CPT/HCPCS, place of service, provider specialty, etc.)
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent certifications/education in a science major (AS/BS), health care, IT, or related field of study
- Ability to work with a diverse group of personalities in a team environment
